Terms of Service
Last updated: June 15, 2026
Welcome to Memoelle. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and the Life Book service. By placing an order or using our site, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Memoelle helps you turn a recorded conversation with someone you love into a printed hardcover book. A single Life Book order ($319 USD) includes: a Conversation Guide and Writing Guide (PDF downloads), transcription of your recording, and one printed hardcover book delivered to your address. Apart from the printed book and delivery, the guides are digital products delivered to you immediately.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to place an order. The service is currently offered to customers in the United States.
3. Orders and payment
Payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe), which may offer card, Klarna, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Prices are in U.S. dollars. By ordering, you authorize the charge and confirm that the payment details you provide are yours.
4. Recordings and consent
You are responsible for the content you record and upload. You must have the permission of the person you record to record them and to have their words transcribed and made into a book. You confirm you have all necessary rights and consents for any audio, text, names, and photographs you provide.
5. Your content and our content
You own your stories, recordings, transcripts, manuscript, and finished book content. You grant Memoelle a limited license to process that content solely to provide the service — transcribing, preparing a draft, and printing your book. Memoelle owns the website, the guides, and the Memoelle brand; the guides are licensed to you for your personal, non-commercial use and may not be redistributed.
6. Delivery and timelines
The guides are available immediately after purchase. Transcription is returned within a few business days of receiving your audio. Your printed book is produced and shipped after you submit your finished manuscript. Your own steps — recording and shaping the story — happen at your own pace; there is no deadline.
7. Refunds
Refund eligibility is described in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to upload unlawful content, content you do not have the rights to, or content that infringes the rights or privacy of others. We may decline to process orders that violate these Terms or applicable law.
9. Third-party services
We rely on third parties to deliver the service, including payment processing, file storage, transcription, draft preparation, and printing and shipping. Their handling of your information is described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Memoelle is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to an order will not exceed the amount you paid for that order.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version, and continued use of the service means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [State], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
