Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Memoelle collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Your stories are personal, and we treat them that way.
1. Information we collect
- Account & contact: the email address you use to sign in (we use passwordless magic links).
- Order & billing: your name, the recipient's name, and payment details. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers.
- Your content: the audio recordings, transcripts, manuscript, and any photographs you upload to create your book.
- Usage: basic technical information needed to operate and secure the site.
2. How we use your information
We use your information only to provide the service: to take payment, transcribe your recording, prepare your first draft, produce and ship your book, send you service emails (such as your sign-in link), and provide support.
3. Service providers
We share information with trusted providers only as needed to deliver the service:
- Payments — to process your order securely.
- Storage & authentication — to store your account, order, and uploaded files.
- Transcription — to turn your audio into text.
- Draft preparation — to prepare a first draft from your transcript.
- Printing & shipping — to print your hardcover book and deliver it to you.
These providers process your information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Storage and retention
We keep your content for as long as needed to deliver your book and provide support, and then for a reasonable period afterward. You can ask us to delete your recordings and other content earlier (see your rights below).
5. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may ask us to delete your uploaded recordings and content. To make a request, email hello@memoelle.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
6. Security
We use passwordless sign-in and access controls so that your order and content are accessible only to you. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
7. Children
The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
